About Us
History
Our story starts way back, when Ronewa Mudau, Founder and Director, emerged from an abusive marriage.
Our vision is a world where all women are free from gender-based violence, empowered to live fulfilling lives of dignity and equality.
Empower women, eradicate gender-based violence, and promote dignity and equality through impactful programs and advocacy efforts.
Our values center around empathy, empowerment, equality, integrity, and collaboration to fulfill our vision of a world free from gender-based violence.
- Empathy: We value compassion and understanding, actively listening to the experiences and needs of women affected by gender-based violence.
- Empowerment: We believe in fostering self-confidence and providing resources for women to reclaim their power and autonomy.
- Equality: We strive for a society where women are treated with fairness, respect, and given equal opportunities.
- Integrity: We uphold the highest standards of honesty, transparency, and accountability in all our actions and interactions.
- Collaboration: We believe in the strength of partnerships and working together to create sustainable change for women globally.
At Fixing A Sister’s Crown (FASC), we are driven by personal experience. As a survivor of gender-based violence, Ronewa Mudau understood the desperate need for support. After enduring abuse for a decade, She realized the toll it took on her health and her children’s well-being and was left with nothing, That is why as an organization we empathize with the pain of having nowhere to go and no one to turn to. We’re here—to provide help, resources, and a safe haven for women in similar situations. We believe in empowering survivors and breaking the cycle of abuse, so no one feels alone or trapped.
We are proud to collaborate with valuable partners in our mission to combat gender-based violence. The Department of Social Development in Diepsloot and Grace Point Church have been instrumental in providing assistance and support. We are grateful to Clo and Valumax for generously offering their venue for our events. Representatives from Gauteng Social Development, the office of the ward councilor, community stakeholders’ leadership, and dedicated social workers actively participate as speakers, sharing their expertise. Our partnerships extend to Musengavhadzimu Primary School and Sunrise Secondary School, located in the Diepsloot informal settlement, where we work closely to raise awareness and provide resources. Together, with our esteemed partners, we are making a difference in the lives of those affected by gender-based violence, fostering a safer and more supportive community for all.
